Roof Conversion

This family was struggling with their existing conservatory that was too hot in summer and too cold in winter, making it unusable during much of the year. We transformed the space with a comprehensive roof conversion, replacing their previous glass or polycarbonate roof with a fully insulated solid tiled system that complements the main house perfectly. The new slate-effect roof provides superior thermal efficiency while maintaining the distinctive hexagonal character of their Victorian-style conservatory. The golden oak frames were preserved to maintain warmth and visual continuity with the rest of the home’s windows, while the brick base ensures structural integrity and a seamless transition from the main building. Inside, the ceiling is now fully plastered with recessed lighting, creating a comfortable, permanent-feeling space rather than a seasonal add-on. The dramatic improvement in insulation means the room stays cool in summer and warm in winter, transforming what was previously an occasional sunroom into a versatile living space that can be enjoyed year-round. The family now uses this beautiful room daily as a comfortable dining area, reading nook, or place to simply relax while enjoying views of their garden through the panoramic windows.
